Postdoc Openings at CRFL

The Computational Reacting Flows Laboratory (CRFL) at KAUST Clean Combustion Research Center (CCRC) has openings for talented postdoctoral researchers in the area of high fidelity, high performance modeling for advanced combustion systems. For an outstanding candidate with extensive postdoctoral experience, a research scientist position may also be considered.

Areas of interest include:

  • High fidelity modeling of internal combustion engines (RANS/LES/Multizone)
  • Spray modeling at various level of fidelity (RANS/LES)
  • High fidelity simulation (DNS/LES) of turbulent flames with detailed chemistry
  • Code management and optimization for high performance computing
  • Visualization and data-mining for massive simulation data
  • Advanced algorithms for large scale combustion simulations (AMR, chemistry reduction, GPU, etc.)
  • Theoretical analysis of combustion and flames

The applicant’s research activities will involve synergistic collaborations with many other outstanding faculty members and researchers at KAUST CCRC, thus further enhancing productivity and visibility of the conducted research work.

KAUST offers highly competitive salary on a graded system, adjustable depending on qualifications and seniority.  Benefits include housing, medical, dental and life insurance, K-12 education for dependent children (subject to availability), relocation allowance and repatriation allowance, and 20 days vacation per annum.  Additionally, no income tax is paid in Saudi Arabia.

Qualified applicants should send a single pdf file including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, publication list, research statement, and three references via email directly to Professor Hong G. Im (hong.im@kaust.edu.sa).
